Syringoma a.k.a. Oil Cyct

Syringoma a.k.a. Oil Cycts is the main facial problem I am currently facing.

It is a skin disease that strikes people. While it's not serious but cosmetically noticeable and causes embarrassment for those afflicted (I do feel embarrass with the Oil Cycts on my face). Syringoma is the non-cancerous/benign small bumps/tumors that occur around the eye area and form clusters (like I do). They occur more often in women than they do in men (oh noo!!! I am a girl, sooner or later a woman) arising in puberty or middle age (I have then during my puberty). *sad

Causes of Syringomas:
  • Inherited (I guess this is the main cause of mine, my mum have them so do most of my female relatives.)
  • Down's Syndrome (I don't think I have that, do I?)
  • Africans American and Asian races are prone for development of syringomas (I am an Asian!)
  • Diabetes is also associated with its occurrence (My grandma has diabetes; but I dislike sweet things, am I having diabetes as well?)
How to prevent Syringomas:

  1. Monitor the skin around your face on a weekly basis. Take 5 minutes of your day to look closely into the mirror and search for small bumps and raises in the skin. Normally, they will be the same color as your skin and will not be sensitive to the touch.

  2. Visit the dermatologist regularly. Have the doctor perform his regular inspection, but also mention that you are concerned about syringoma and ask him to look specifically for this disorder. Doctor's can spot symptoms further in advance than you can by looking into the mirror.

  3. Study your family's history with syringoma. Studies have shown that this disease does not spread by touching, but is genetic. If this hereditary disease has made an appearance with relatives, you have a cause to be concerned.

  4. Wear facial protection such as sunscreen and hats. While genetics will give you this disease, irritations like sunburns can spur outbreaks. Keep yourself safe in the sun, and hopefully, your outbreaks will be kept at bay. (I think I need more sun protection than anyone does. I hope boyfriend will be more considerate and not scolding me for wearing hat and shade anymore.)

  5. Know risk factors within your genes. African Americans and Asians are more susceptible than others to syringoma. Another risk factor is Downs Syndrome, as people with DS are at a higher risk.

Surgical treatments for syringomas under eye:

  • Cauterization or burning of the part with an electric needle
  • Excision or removal with the use of scalpel or surgical knife (method that I have chosen to deal with it, hopefully it doesn't leave scars)
  • Laser treatment
  • Dermabration or rubbing out of the syringomas
  • Cryosurgery or freezing with the use of liquid nitrogen

13/01/11 Sweet date@Sunway Piramid

Did I ever mentioned before? I bought my very own camera. It's an Penaconic Lumix - pink in colour.
so in love with it.

My tasteless boyfriend chosen it for me when I was in a blur situation in picking which camera as there are almost hundreds of compact cameras for me to choose from. Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Penasonic, Sony and more. Thank you, my dear for solving my doubt.

This camera only cost me RM 700 with RM15 to get a pretty good screen protector. Brilliant choice, doesn't it?

My budget is not exceeding RM 800 *happy when it comes below my budget.

I really need a camera by my own as I am leaving to Australia soon to continue my studies, I gonna take down all my new life experience over there.

Sweet date@Sunway Piramid

Eye Mask

Time for rejuvenation~
^.^ just finish doing the Intensive Sparkling White Eye Mask of sasatinnie
Basically, it is a specially whitening eye mask formulated with Allantoin, Arbutin and plant extract - Green Tea Extract and Mocus Alba Back Extract, which effectively fades out freckles and dark spots for the eye contour area. It also reduces the appearance of the dark circles, fine lines and puffiness, leaving your eyes rejuvenated and luminous.

Aahak... this suits me. 'reduces the appearance of the dark circles' :-( I have big eye beg and dark circles as commonly known. Some Anonymous, which I don't like them even said that my eye begs are deep enough to put 50 cent coin. *Damn
Luckily, they are none to me, I don't care what they say.

Ok, here's the direction to use:
Apply the eye mask sheets onto the eye contour area after cleansing. Leave it in place for 10 minutes. Gently remove the mask sheets and gentle pat skin with fingertips to ensure full absorption. Use one to two times per week.
(maybe this guide can help those who was afirst time eye mask user) *winks
btw, I always use more than 10 minutes due to my 'safee' ideology...

The Intensive Sparkling White Eye Mask of sasatinnie costs RM 4.90 for every 3 pairs. consider quite cheap

Anyhow, I find eye mask is useless. It doesn't work on me. I tried many brand before
sasatinnie, Elianto and more :(

still... applying mask is a type of pleasure. Just mask when you feel like it, because girls do.
